CAST RESIN TRANSFORMERS TAT/R TYPE

We have been manufacturing this type of equipment since 1979 at our works. Up to this moment we have achieved excellent results among which:

  • several short-circuit tests carried out at CESI's laboratories (Milan) each one with positive results;
  • in 1992, thanks to CREL (ENEL's Eletrical Research Department) and first company in Italy to gain this goal, we obtained the Certification for E1 - C1 - F1 classes (in accordance with CEI 14-8 standards). All documentation pertaining to the above certification can be consulted at our company head office;
  • up to now more than 7,200 different units have been manufactured and installed all over the world.

TAT/R transformers series are manufactured by means of modern equipment and subjected to strict control procedures. After individual testing, each MT side winding is casted under vacuum by using a special kind of epoxy resin. The versatility of our production apparatus allows to obtain a wide range of cast mixtures characterised by different types of fillers so as to satisfy both different enviromental and climatic classes and self-extinguishing requirements as well.

Resin Glass Transition is measured by means
of Differential Scanner Calorimeter after hardening.

In order to test the reaction of those transformers to be held in stock for long periods in low temperatures areas, coils undergo a Thermal Shock Test inside a special Refrigerating Chamber which can reach -60ºC temp. values.

Impulse test according to 14-8 Standards performed on a E1 C1 F1 class transformer supplied by ENEL (National Board for Eletric Power).
